Windows 10 is the latest version of Microsoft OS for consumer use by far. It was released in the summer of 2015 but is continuously being updated. Every Windows 10 update brings a lot of changes.

Echo request (a.k.a. ICMP packets or ping) serves to discover whether or not the network device is present on the network (LAN or WAN).
