You may use your Access Point to connect your tablet to the Internet. But the thing is that using this network scheme you can have the Internet connection on one device only. By the way, if your ISP uses authorization by MAC address you will need to register your tablet’s MAC to use the Internet. If you decide to connect your laptop and a tablet at the same time, you will have to replace your Access Point with a router anyways.
