In this guide we will show how to change the brightness of your Galaxy S21 or S20 Always On Display on Android 10 with One UI 3 and 2.
What’s the Matter
Always On Display (AOD) is a cool feature on Samsung Galaxy phones with AMOLED displays. It used to show a brief information on the screen without consuming much energy. Only a small part of LEDs are lit while the majority is off.
By default, the brightness of Always on display is set to “auto” on Galaxy S21/S20. But you may want to use the permanent (unchangeable) level and adjust it to your liking to make your AOD look even more stunning.
How to Adjust Brightness of Always On Display on Galaxy S21, S20, S10, Note 10, etc
This guide is applicable to any Samsung Galaxy phone that runs OneUI 2.0, 2.1, 2.5, 3.0, 3.1 such as S21, S20, S10, S9, Note 10, Note 9, etc.
- Go to Settings.
- Select the Lock Screen section:
- Tap on Always On Display (on the text itself but not the toggle):
- Scroll down to the very bottom.
- Make sure you have Auto brightness disabled.
- Adjust the brightness of your Always On Display manually:
Method #2 (One UI 2 Only)
Once you’ve disabled the auto brightness option, you will always be able to adjust AOD brightness level right from the lock screen by doing the following:
- (Step #0: Make sure your AOD is working. If not, tap on the screen of your Galaxy to display it).
- Double-tap on the clock: AOD settings and brightness icons will show up.
- Tap the brightness icon:
- And finally adjust the level of Always On Display brightness for your Galaxy S20 lock screen at your taste:
Done!
