Chrome (version 45.0.2454.85 m) stopped working after installing Comodo Internet Security Premium. Right after you start the Chrome you get error:
Google Chrome has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Cause of error
As it turned out guard32.dll (the component of CIS Premium 220.127.116.1174) was causing the error:
How to fix
- Uninstall CIS:
In some cases helps renaming guard32.dll but I do not know what are the consequencies. So do it on your own risk if you wish.
- Sometimes after uninstalling CIS you can get a network error: Inidentified network (Limited). In this case launch command promt as administrator (how to), type netsh winsock reset and reboot the computer:
- Update 07.09.2015. You can install a new build of Comodo Internet Security Premium from the official website. The problem was fixed.
